Fort Middle Schools is committed to providing educational experiences that will enable each student to become a lifelong learner, enter the workforce with necessary skills, and achieve academic and personal potential.
We are focused on reaching targets academically and through social and emotional growth. Fort Middle School offers many opportunities that will help students advance to high school. We offer advanced, honors, and gifted courses that will ensure students excel in magnet high schools. There are many academic clubs and organizations that benefit students inside as well as outside of the classroom.
There are several opportunities for students who may have missed a
concept in class to receive help through our Friday Evening School
program. This is also a chance for students to make up missed work.
In February and March, Fort offers free Criterion Referenced
Curriculum Test (CRCT) tutorials to help students pass the state
exam. We offer writing, math, and language arts tutorials throughout
the school year. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that our
students have the safety nets they need for success.
Fort is making progress towards becoming a charter school targeting
fall 2010 to become Fort Middle School Service Learning Academy.
Fort is a Learn and Serve school which develops academic skills
while strengthening communities through service. Sample projects
include designing playgrounds, building wheelchair ramps, using
math, and/or teaching younger children to read. The benefits of the
program include improved academic achievement, increased student
engagement and civic skills producing stronger communities.
We recognize that we can not do all of these positive activities
without strong Partners in Education. Panasonic and MEDDAC assist us
with many programs we have at our school including CRCT tutorials.
We are supported by other community partners and leaders as well. So
please join us at Fort Middle School, "The Best Middle School in the
World!"
*We have a peanut and fish free school environment due to the allergies of some students. Please do not bring these items to school.*
